Internal Quality Assurance Cell

The primary aim of IQAC is

  • To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
  • To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices

IQAC shall evolve mechanisms and procedures for

  • Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks.
  • The relevance and quality of academic and research programmes.
  • Equitable access to and affordability of academic programmes for various sections of society.
  • Optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching and learning.
  • The credibility of evaluation procedures.
  • Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and proper allocation of support structure and services.
  • Sharing of research findings and networking with other institutions in India and abroad.

Some of the functions expected of the IQAC are:

  • Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution.
  • Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process.
  • Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.
  • Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education.
  • Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles.
  • Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement.
  • Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices.
  • Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality.
  • Development of Quality Culture in the institution.
  • Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC.

IQAC will facilitate / contribute

  • Ensure heightened level of clarity and focus in institutional functioning towards quality enhancement.
  • Ensure internalization of the quality culture.
  • Ensure enhancement and coordination among various activities of the institution and institutionalize all good practices.
  • Provide a sound basis for decision-making to improve institutional functioning.
  • Act as a dynamic system for quality changes in HEIs; e) Build an organised methodology of documentation and internal communication.

Dr.N.Mallikharjuna Rao
Director, IQAC

Dr. Mallikharjuna Rao Nuka is the Director of Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Annamacharya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Rajampet. He moved up to the position of the Director, IQAC after serving the college for seventeen years in diverse positions, Continuing in Administrative positions as the Chairman Board of Studies of Master of Computer Applications and the member of Academic Council. He has joined at AITS,Rajampet as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the year 1999. Consequently, he moved up to the position of Head of the Department of Master of Computer Applications in the year 2001.

He has received his B.Sc (Computers) degree from Andhra University in 1995 and received MCA Degree from Acharya Nagarjuna University in the year 1998. He received his M.Tech (CSE) from Allahabad Agricultural Institute (Deemed University), Allahabad in the year 2006 and received M.Phil (Computer Science) from Madurai Kamaraj University in the year 2008. He has received his Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering degree from Acharya Nagarjuna University in the year 2015. For the past 17 years, he has been actively involved in teaching and research.

As a teacher, he has taught a wide variety of subjects viz., C and C++ Programming, Mathematical Foundation of Computer Science, Computer Organization, Operating Systems, Systems Programming Business Data Processing, Database Management Systems, Computer Networks, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Software Engineering, Software Project Management, Software Testing, Simulation and Modeling, BigData Analytics, Management Information Systems, Enterprise Resource Planning..

Worked as a Chair Person for the 13th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology held on 13~16, February 2011 at Phoenix Park, Republic of Korea. Worked as Program Committee Chair for 2012 International Conference on Information and Intelligent Computing (ICIIC 2012) held on December 8-9, 2012 at Chengdu, China.

Worked as Program Committee member for 2013 IEEE International Symposium on Mobile Cloud, Computing and Service Engineering (IEEE Mobile Cloud 2013) held on March 26th~28th , 2013 at San Francisco Bay, USA. Worked as Publicity Chair for 2013 IEEE International Symposium on Mobile Cloud, Computing and Service Engineering (IEEE Mobile Cloud 2013) held on March 26th~28th , 2013 at San Francisco Bay ,USA

Worked as Program Committee member for the World Symposium on Computer Applications & Research (WSCAR’ 2014), 18-20 January, Sousse, Tunisia Worked as Program committee member for the 2nd International Workshop on Mobile Applications (MobiApps-2015), 24-26 August 2015, Rome, Italy. Worked as Program Committee for the 2015 International Symposium on Web of Things and Big Data (WoTBD-2015), 5~8th, October 2015, Manama, Bahrain. Working as a designated reviewer for International Journal of Computers & Distributed Systems (IJCDS), ISSN: 2278-5183, India.

He has guided several B.Tech and MCA dissertations. He has published / presented several technical papers in Web Science and Scopus indexed Journals/conference. He is a Member of IEEE, Member of ISTE, CSI and IETE. At present, he is the Counselor of IEEE Student Chapter of AITS Rajampet. His research interests are to conceptualize the applications of Information and Communication Technology that aid business / government systems in improving productivity and quality of service while decreasing the cost of service.

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council advocate the establishment of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) by all the accredited institutions as a post accreditation quality sustenance activity. After the first assessment, where in the college was accredited at the B level & Intuitional score of 70%. IQAC was established on 18-01-2012. Norms and guidelines of NAAC were followed while constituting the IQAC. It consists of representative of all stake holders as its members. The Dean Academcis & Examinations is the Chairperson of IQAC, while a senior Professor is a coordinator. Teachers, expert members and representative of all stake holders are its members.

Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for the various academic and administrative activates of the institution. Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of higher education. Organization of workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotions of quality circles. Documentation of the various programme/activities leading to quality improvement. One of the most important works of the IQAC is also the consistent preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to be submitted to NAAC based on various quality parameters.
