Human Rights Cell

Preamble:

Human Rights are almost a form of religion in today’s world. Human Rights are the great ethical yardstick that is used to measure a government’s treatment of its people. Justice and peace can become a reality when human rights are acknowledged, respected and promoted. Individuals cannot attain their full potential if they are denied their legitimate rights. However, these Human Rights are totally ignored and violated today. With this commitment to uphold the rights and dignity of the human beings, the Human rights cell was setup in 10th, October 2008 in our College.

About Human Right Cell

Human rights cell came in to existence in our college during the year 10/10/2008. The cell aims at creating awareness about human rights among the faculties, staffs and students. It also aims at personality development of individual and to lead a decent and dignified life without infringing the rights of others.

Vision:

The vision of human rights cell is to visualize a comprehensive society where everyone takes responsibility to promote and preserve human rights.

Mission:

Is to promote, preserve and implement human rights through effective institutional policy development, capability building and control of human rights violations.

Motto: Voice for liberty

Objectives

  • To educate and create greater awareness of human rights.
  • To promote Human Rights culture in the Institute.
  • To study and examine cases of human rights in and around the campus.
  • To create a network with other organizations for working in the spirit of solidarity.
  • To work for ensuring that basic human rights are respected everywhere.
  • Legal education in sphere of human rights and freedom, forms and methods of its protection.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • To foster a climate of understanding and mutual respect for the dignity and rights of each individual.
  • To prevent, report and discourage discrimination and harassment by others.
  • To uplift the universal responsibilities of human beings in the society such as ethnicity, nationality, religion or sex.
